Taifun took revenge on Krylya Sovetov and returned to the play-in zone
On October 7, Taifun played a return match against Krylya Sovetov, finishing the home series. The day before, the hosts lost to the Moscow team 0:4. For the first time this season, they scored no goals.
For most of the second game, Taifun was chasing Krylya, but managed to show character and won - 4:3.
The visitors opened the scoring in the fourth minute, it took the Primorye team the same amount of time to tie the scores. A wrist shot by Alexei Ivashinnikov from the blue line reached its target - 1:1.
Soon the Moscow team took ahead again – during power play, they scored immediately after the face-off - 1:2.
They managed to get even for the second time already in the middle of the next period, Leonid Zhdanovsky scored. The forward put his body forward, passed through the player, tossed the puck, it ricocheted off the opponent's stick and squeezed under the goalie's glove - 2:2. But a few minutes later, Krylya took the lead again, taking advantage of the mistakes of the hosts in the penalty kill - 2:3. Vitaly Penkin’s penalty in the 35th minute of the match could have been fatal. The defender was punished for five minutes for cross-checking. They managed to heroically hold out the penalty kill, and then there was two-minute power play. Although it did not bring results, it allowed Taifun to seize the initiative.
As a result, Ilgiz Nuriyev's players started the third period with a bang. Stepan Levitsky tweaked the puck near the goal after a shot by Roman Strochkin – it was a goal! But, as it turned out, a false one. The referees immediately went to watch a consulting video, without thinking twice, they canceled the goal, recording high-sticking. The hosts did not hesitate and in a couple of minutes another puck was in the goal of Krylya Sovetov. This time, Maxim Gordiyuk, a pupil of the Moscow hockey school, said his word. The forward finished the pass by Stepan Levitsky - 3:3.
In the 50th minute, Taifun took the lead for the first time in this match. Ivan Fomin, using a great pass from Artyom Plaksin, scored a goal, bringing his team to a victory – 4:3.
Taifun won the game and regained its place in the play-in zone. Next, the team has a series of four away games, which will begin on October 15.
