Taifun missed a chance in the first match with Russkie Vityazi
Taifun started the away series with a match against Russkie Vityazi in Balashikha.
On October 15, there was the first match between the teams. The Primorye team opened the scoring quickly. Just a minute and a half later, Roman Yefimov, scoring a direct shot from the blue line, celebrated his first goal for Taifun. However, the hosts' response was not long in coming - a minute later the score was tied.
The promising start did not materialize, both teams had problems converting their opportunities. Taifun had power play twice but failed to take advantage of this opportunity. But Taifun goalkeeper Alexander Privalov showed real skill, making several key saves.
But goalkeepers can't do everything. At the beginning of the second period, the Russkie Vityazi outplayed Privalov for the second time, taking the lead.
The head coach of Taifun was forced to take a timeout, the teams went to the second intermission with the score 2:1.
In the final period of the match, Taifun tried to turn the game around, and looked more successful from time to time. However, ridiculous penalties let them down, and they lost their advantage. The coaching staff of Taifun was forced to remove the goalkeeper and release a sixth field player a couple of minutes before the siren. This time, the attempt was unsuccessful.
Russkie Vityazi were ready, they immediately took advantage of their chance, securing their success.
The result of the game – 3:1.
Tomorrow, October 16, there will be the second match between the teams. The game will start at 18:00 Moscow time, at 01:00 Vladivostok time.
