Taifun lost to Krasnaya Armiya in a tense game

After a week and a half break, Taifun met Krasnaya Armiya, one of the leaders of the Silver Division, on home ice. The Moscow team, after a series of eight victories, lost to teams from the Far East three times. It is not difficult to guess that an opponent came to Primorye extremely angry.  
The first period was an equal fight. Alexander Privalov played confidently in Taifun's goal, especially in the middle of the period, when Krasnaya Armiya increased the pressure.
In the second period, the visitors opened the scoring and in 10 minutes created a quite comfortable advantage of three goals. Taifun had several scoring opportunities but didn’t manage to convert them.
The third period was a real thriller. The Taifun players managed to get even, tying the score. It all started with a goal by Ivan Fomin in the 47th minute. Plaksin threw towards the goal, Fomin put his stick in, then the puck flew in behind the goalkeeper - 1:3. This goal gave confidence to the team, the guys began to play more freely, creating lots of scoring opportunities. A couple of minutes later, Stepan Levitsky reduced the gap to a minimum, shooting into the far corner. Soon the first line gave a masterpiece goal - a perfect pass from Fomin, Plaksin threw with a turn, and Andrei Florovsky finished the attack with a throw into the empty corner of the goal - 3:3. Almost immediately, smiles and admiration were replaced by anxiety due to the missed puck - 3:4. But Taifun did not give up, their efforts were rewarded, the hosts evened the score – Ivashinnikov shot from the blue line, Levitsky put his stick in – 4:4.
In overtime, Privalov's goal was more dangerous, but Primorye had an advantage in shots on goal. The goalkeepers of both teams were at their best. In the shootout series, Krasnaya Armiya was more accurate, converting two shots out of five. For Taifun, Raul Yakupov, who was sent to a farm club, had the only successful shot.
Match result was 4:5 SO.
The return match between Taifun and Krasnaya Armiya will be on Tuesday, November 12. The game starts at 19:00, admission is free.
