On October 28, Taifun hosted Yaroslavl's Loko on home ice
The opponents started with very spectacular hockey. Despite the fact that the fans did not see any goals in the first period, the dedication of Taifun and the incomparable play of the goalies were impressive. The teams went into the break without a single penalty, with an approximately equal number of shots. The hosts blocked more often, and what is important - they won face-offs.
In the second period, Loko increased the pressure. It was increasingly difficult for the hosts to resist the obvious leader, which is why mistakes became more frequent and Taifun started getting penalties. They became fatal. Lokomotiv converted their many men advantage twice in a row - 0:2. For some time, they managed to take the game away from Privalov's goal, but they had to finish this period short-handed again.
At the beginning of the third period, Lokomotiv players converted power play again, and a few minutes later they scored one more goal at even strength – 0:4. In the 51st minute of the match, Taifun managed to break through the visitors’ defense and break the goalless streak against the team from Yaroslavl. The author of the goal was Roman Yefimov, the defender scored a direct shot from the blue line – 1:4. Exactly one minute later, Lokomotiv scored a return goal – 1:5. The final point in the match was put by Maksim Gordiyuk, who made a bold run to the visitors’ goal. And although the team lost, the fans in the stands did not stop, chanting encouraging chants. The result of the match was 2:5.
Taifun will play their next match at Fetisov Arena on October 31. Cherepovets' Almaz will visit Primorye. The game will start at 19:00, admission is free.
