Typhoon greets Captains

On March 17 and 18, Typhoon will play against Captains on the ice of Fetisov Arena. Both games start at 9:00 a.m. GMT.

Our team – Typhoon, Primorye Territory

Typhoon is playing final home series of the regular season, which consists of eight games. Four games are already behind us, two more games ahead against Captains and Sakhalin Sharks.

The home series for Ilgiz Nuriev's wards started with defeats from the teams of Gold Division – Mikhailov Academy (0:3) and Atlant (0:1). The next two games against Hors-Karelia were much more successful for Primorye players: the first game ended with a score of 4:1, and in the second confrontation Typhoon took courage and hit 10 pucks into the guests’ net, conceding 4 goals.

Typhoon ranks eighth in Silver Division of the West. The team has 37 points after 50 games. The victories over Hors-Karelia allowed Primorye team to overtake Sakhalin Sharks and move up in the rankings.

Opponent – Captains, Moscow Region

Captains spent the 2023/2024 season in Gold Division. After finishing the regular season in ninth place with 35 points, the team moved to Silver Division.

At the moment the team ranks sixth in Silver Division, having 39 points after 51 games.

Captains started their away series in the Far East with two games in Sakhalin. Before the games against the Sakhalin Sharks, they had a four-game losing streak. Artyom Artemyev's team lost to SKA-1946 (1:6) at home, then failed to defeat Loko (3:2) and Almaz (6:1) on the road. Back in Stupino, the team lost to Soviet Wings with a score of 3:4.

The first game against the Sharks also ended not in favor of Moscow Region team. Captains lost to the hosts with a minimum score of 1:0, thus extending the series of defeats to five games, but the next day the guests managed to take revenge (3:5).

Confrontation record

There are 28 games between Typhoon and Captains. It is noteworthy that the opponents won 14 games each. However, Captains has 11 wins in regulation time, Typhoon – 10. Both teams won in overtime 2 times each, but Typhoon has one win more by shootout.

This season the teams played in early September in Stupino. The first game ended with a 4:1 victory for the home team, while in the second match Typhoon managed to get revenge and snatch victory by shootout (2:3 SO).
