Taifun did not manage to keep the advantage in the game with the leader
The first home match of the season for Taifun was against Spartak, team that tops the Standings of the Golden Division.
Spartak was dominating the game from the first minutes, creating a lot of dangerous attacks at the gates of Artyom Kotushenok. Former Taifun player Stepan Tarasenko created the tensest opportunity at the start of the period, hitting the post. A few minutes later, however, the Spartak team opened the scoring. In the 14th minute, Taifun caught up with their opponent. Forward Andrei Florovsky scored his first goal in the JHL, he received a pass from Timofei Ashurkin. Three minutes later, the guests were leading in the score again, many men advantage helped them.
In the second period, the Taifun players managed to take advantage of the guests’ mistakes twice and kept their goal intact. First, Roman Strochkin stole the puck from Spartak players and successfully beat their goalie - 2:2. In the final seconds of the period Stepan Levitsky made a solo pass during penalty kill and put his team ahead - 3:2.
The taste of a possible victory lasted for a short time. Already in the second minute of the final period, the Spartak team tied the scores. And then the game of Taifun began to crumble without any chance for recovery. In the end, it took the visitors just over ten minutes to score five goals. A couple minutes before the final siren, Primorye team had a chance to save the game on the power play, but they didn’t succeed. Spartak players scored the eighth goal against Taifun, setting the final score at 3:8.
