August 24, Taifun held a friendly match as a part of preseason training. Primorye team met with a farm club of Minsk Junost, the team Junior.
The meeting was held at the ice arena Olympic, where HC Admiral is training now. By the way, in a few days the Sailors will hold a match with the hockey team Junost at the same place.
Let's get back to the junior squads. The team Junior plays in the Vysshaya Liga - the youth championship of the Republic of Belarus, the farm-clubs of the Extraliga teams play there. Minsk team won the tournament in the season 2023/2024.
In the battle of youth teams from different countries Taifun was stronger. Ilgiz Nuriev's team won, 5-1. Primorye team scored three goals in the opening frame and scored twice in the second period. They failed to keep their goal intact, and at the end of the third period the home team deprived Artyom Kotushyonok of a shutout.
Perhaps it was not the last match of the Taifun in the preseason preparation. Olimpbet JHL Championship starts on September 1. Taifun will play its first away game of the new season on September 5 in the city of Stupino.
