Taifun defeated Belarus U17


Taifun held the final match in the preseason training.
Ilgiz Nuriev's team met with the Belarus U17 junior team, which includes the country's best athletes under the age of 17. The hosts were determined to prove their leadership and opened the score five minutes after the start of the match, 1:0. It all has changed along with the pace of the game, which was soon reflected in the score. At the beginning of the next period Ilya Nechitailo equalized the numbers on the scoreboard - 1:1. In the third period, Primorye players gained a strong foothold in the opponent's zone but were able to convert only one of the many opportunities. Roman Taranenko gave Taifun a 2-1 lead, thus setting the final result of the game.
The meeting did not end with three periods. As is often expected at test matches, the rivals played a five-minute stretch of 3-on-3 play and a series of shootouts. The overtime ended with no goals, and the shootout was won by the juniors - 2:1, with Roman Strochkin scoring shot.
Olimpbet JHL Championship starts on September 1. Taifun will play their first game of the new season away, in Stupino on September 5.
