Lost in the second period

On February 12, Typhoon played the first of two paired games against Red Army. It was the third game of Primorye youth team’s away series, before that Typhoon played twice in Saint Petersburg. For the Army men, this is the first game in ten days.

Both November games between the opponents that took place in Vladivostok were hard-fought and high-scoring. The games ended by shootout with scores of 4:5.

Typhoon played well in the opening period in Moscow: players of Primorye team outshot their opponents 11-5, had chances to score twice on the power play, but the goalie has been saving his team over and over again. Interestingly, the former Typhoon player Alexander Privalov defended the net of Muscovites. He went to the capital club in December as a result of the exchange for Vsevolod Skotnikov (who plays for Admirals now).

Four minutes before the break, Red Army opened the scoring – 1:0.

In the second period, Primorsky team had a lot of trouble. The hosts took a chance to score one-on-zero at the beginning, increasing the gap to 2:0. Before the middle of the second period, Red Army had two more successful attacks, bringing the score to 4:0. After that Ruslan Kakenov replaced Alexey Noskov in the net, but soon the Army men struck twice with a few seconds apart, giving themselves a comfortable advantage (6:0).

In the first minutes of the third period, Typhoon didn’t let Alexander Privalov's net remain untouchable: Roman Strochkin intercepted the puck in the opponent’s zone, broke one-on-zero, outplayed the goalie and shot into the top corner – 6:1. This goal was the only one in the final period.

Result – 6:1.

On February 13, the teams will meet again. The game starts at 2 p.m. GMT.
