Hoping for revenge
Typhoon continues its home series in Vladivostok, hosting AKM-Junior. Recently Primorye team defeated Russian Vityazes twice, scoring points in last four home games.
On Friday, January 24, the first of two scheduled matches against Tula team took place.
Ilgiz Nuriev's wards took initiative at the beginning, but as the game went on, they gradually wasted their advantage. Several unnecessary penalties made players lose the pace of the game. In the middle of the period AKM-Junior opened the score. Five minutes before the break, the home team caught up with the opponent. Demyan Ermak scored after a pass from behind the net by Ivan Fomin – 1:1.
In the second period, discipline became the biggest enemy of Typhoon. In the 31st minute, the guests took the lead, and while trying to get back, Vladivostok players started to violate the rules. AKM-Junior took advantage of their mistakes and converted power play twice, going into the break with a significant superiority – 1:4.
As it turned out, the second period was critical. In the final period, the guests played extremely cautiously, rarely attacking Noskov's net and not allowing Typhoon attacking actions to unfold. The main highlights of the period were two one-on-one attempts by Ivan Fomin and Demyan Yermak, but unfortunately both chances weren’t successful. As a result, AKM-Junior managed to maintain their advantage.
Final score – 1:4
Tomorrow, January 25, the opponents will play a second game on the ice of Fetisov Arena. The game starts at 5:00 p.m. (7:00 a.m. GMT).
