Will the Sailors continue making a splash?
Despite all the predictions based on the results of the regular season, Admirals showed by example that the playoffs is a completely different tournament. The Sailors, ranking eighth in the East, defeated the conference’s leader Traktor in the first away game of the series (5:4). What’s more, Leonid Tambiyev's wards twice had a three-goal lead during the game. One more loss will significantly worsen Chelyabinsk team's position: after the upcoming game, the teams will travel to the Far East, and the Uralians can hardly afford to do it while losing 0:2 in the series. Will they be able to salvage the situation? One of the biggest questions is, who will start to play in the net for Traktor? In the first game, Zach Fucale gave way to Sergei Mylnikov after four conceded goals.
Leaders
Three Traktor players have personal scoring streaks: Vitaly Kravtsov (5+5 in 7 games), Alexander Kadeikin (2+2 in 4 games), and Charles Robinson (3+0 in 3 games). The hosts' top scorers in the first game were forward Ostap Safin (2+0) and defenseman Grigory Dronov (0+2). Speaking of Admirals, defenseman Libor Sulak scored an assist hat trick (0+3), and forward Daniil Gutik extended his scoring streak to eight games (6+5). A number of players will have anniversary games in KHL, if they go on the ice. For Traktor, it is Sergei Telegin (300th) and Arseny Koromyslov (100th), while for Admirals, it is Yegor Petukhov (400th) and Artyom Chmykhov – (200th).
Upcoming match
Chelyabinsk team have defeated Admirals 21 times in the League, and the guests have been stronger in 12 confrontations. The new game of the teams starts at 11:30 a.m. GMT. Broadcast on KHL Prime TV channel and Kinopoisk service.
