The last game of Far East Derby

The last game of Far East Derby
On March 11, Admirals will face Amur for the sixth time in the season.
The outcome of Far East Derby has long been decided, as well as the question of the Tigers' failure to qualify for the playoffs. But it will definitely not be an easy game. Amur has showed a good performance recently: they won two games out of four and earned one more point, losing in overtime. There could be several reasons for this.

First, Khabarovsk team is playing without pressure: they lost their mathematical chances of making the playoffs back in mid-January. Second, even after a disappointing season, there is a great desire to perform well and finish the season on a positive note in front of their fans. And of course, every player wants to prove his personal worth and get a good contract for the next season.

Speaking of the Sailors, last week they troubled themselves by losing to their main pursuer Neftekhimik a second before the final buzzer. Now Admirals need two wins and another point to qualify for the playoffs regardless of the results of the opponents’ games.

In 62 games, the Tigers have earned 38 points, ranking eleventh in the East. Amur won 15 games and earned points in eight more games. Admirals have 65 points and rank seventh. They won 27 games and lost 11 games beyond regulation time.

Leaders

Arkady Shestakov is the most profitable player of Admirals nowadays – he earned 7 points (5+2) in six games. Daniil Gutik scored two points last game and broke the scoring record. The forward might reach a new milestone – 50+ points. The Tigers forward Vladislav Barulin has a personal scoring streak of four games (2+2). Vyacheslav Gretsky remains in third place for hits in the regular season (176 in 58 games). For Yefim Gurkin, the next game is the 600th in KHL.

Upcoming match

The battle between the neighbors will be the 57th in KHL history. Admirals have 33 wins, five of them are in the current championship, which is a record – no other team had such a long winning streak in derby games before.

The sixth game between Admirals and Amur starts at 9:30 a.m. GMT. Broadcast on OTV-Prim TV channel, KHL and KHL Prime, and Kinopoisk service.
