Forty minutes out of control

Forty minutes out of control
On April 2, Admirals and Traktor played the fourth game of their playoffs series. The guests started very actively, putting pressure on the Sailors’ and not letting them break into the middle zone for a couple of minutes. The first shot on goal by Admirals was delayed until the fourth minute. Since that the home team started fighting back.

As in previous games, Admirals scored first. It happened in the 8th minute on a power play: Sulak shot from the blue line, and Shestakov redirected the puck into the net. This point was the 100th for the forward in KHL. Shestakov scored the next goal assisted by Soshnikov, who passed the puck to the slot.

However, the Sailors didn't manage to play without penalties in this period, and Traktor punished the home team for one of them. Dronov's powerful shot from the blue line sent the puck exactly in the top corner.

The goals didn't end there. In the 16th minute, the Sailors had a faceoff in the opponent's zone and made the most of it. Osnovin won it, and Muranov hit an accurate one-timer. The last minute was played four-on-four: the home team violated the rules on the power play. More space did not benefit anyone, and the teams went into the break with the score 3:1.

Fifteen minutes was enough for the opponents to get ahead in the second period. Shabanov scored Traktor's second goal 36 seconds after the first faceoff. In the 27th minute, Robinson evened the score on a delayed penalty, finishing a three-on-one attack. Later, Blazhiyevsky, who was out of sight, took aim and hit the puck exactly into the near top corner. Traktor took the lead, but that wasn't all of Admirals’ problems. Before going into the locker room, Ruchkin violated the rules, and Svetlakov sent the puck into Mishurov’s five-hole after Der-Arguchintsev's assist. And despite the Sailors showed resistance against the opponent's onslaught and tried some breakaways, they didn’t manage to beat Fucale in the second period.

Admirals started the third period with Konovalov in the net. The opponents didn't let them get involved into the game – Shabanov scored a quick goal. Admirals had a real chance to score and try to catch up after Day’s double minor: they played four minutes without a goalie and even hit the goalpost. It looked like the puck crossed the goal line, but the referees unhesitatingly spread their hands.

Tkachyov put a point in the game, scoring Traktor’s third goal on the power play. Result – 3:7. The series is tied 2:2. The teams will play the next game in Chelyabinsk.
