Saint-Petersburg team is about to begin their journey to the Far East starting with Primorye. Hone series was short but successful. They won in both of the games with a three-puck lead (Amur – 6:3, Torpedo – 4:1). Unfortunately, they did not manage to overcome the difficulties of the recent five games. Saint-P team lost to Avangard (1:2) and got only one point in game with AK Bars (2:3 OT).
Roman Rotenberg team has 39 points in total, they’re now in 39th line of the Western Conference Standings. Army Team has won 18 of 30 last games, getting 3 points in three more games.
Army team defenseman Anthony De Angelo is a contender for the top spot in the scoring defenseman rankings. He has 23 points, the second-best result in the League, and is also in the top 5 assist scorers. Sergei Plotnikov is third in the KHL sniper race with 16 goals. In addition, four SKA players are among the best in GPA: Arseny Gritsyuk, Anthony De Angelo, Valentin Zykov, and Evgeny Kuznetsov, which is quite logical, considering that SKA is the League's top scorer team. However, they also had the most penalty minutes.
Off-season
In the summer, SKA made their most high-profile transfer. After 10 years in the NHL, Evgeny Kuznetsov returned to Russia. The star pupil of Traktor signed a four-year contract with the Army team. The player was given a lot of praise, and even a separate ceremonial presentation was held. Despite the fact that Kuznetsov scored a goal in his first match of the season, his comeback to the KHL was not as bright as hockey fans expected. Kuznetsov had a great October. He played a series of 9 matches with points scored and rose to the top of the team. Now he is the third top scorer of SKA and is close to reaching the grandmaster level. He has 22 points in 25 matches.
Another player from overseas was defenseman Nikita Zaitsev. In the KHL, the defenseman has 368 matches and 119 (39+80) points for Sibir and CSKA, and the player spent the previous eight seasons in the NHL. Zaitsev played 500 matches for Toronto, Ottawa and Chicago and earned 120 (22+98) points.  
As for SKA’s attack line, it was strengthened by former Moscow army men – three-time Gagarin Cup winners Sergei Plotnikov and Mikhail Grigorenko. If Mikhail is usually considered a natural sniper, he even manages to enter the club’s history of CSKA, scoring a record 150 goals for the Moscow grandee, then Plotnikov is more often considered a versatile forward. But today he is leading the team’s sniper race. He has 14 goals. If this Khabarovsk player continues in the same spirit, he is quite capable of improving his personal performance – 23 goals in 65 matches.

Familiar faces
SKA defenseman Artyom Zemchyonok spent his first full season in the KHL with Admiral. The pupil of Moscow hockey school came to Vladivostok after the expansion draft. In total, he spent five seasons with the team and played 251 matches (13+44) – a record for defensemen of the Primorye team. Leonid Metalnikov is the closest one to him. But to conquer it, No. 7 still has 48 matches to play for the Sailors.
Upcoming match
The game between Admiral and SKA will be the 20th in the history of the confrontation between the teams. The visitors have a great advantage in the number of victories. And the Sailors have beaten the army men only four times. The last home victory over SKA was in November 2022. Then Admiral won with a score of 3:1.
